About the Anchikoski family (Victoria)

What follows is a brief history of our family.

Beginnings

I (Randy) have lived in Victoria since August, 1986.  Kelly moved to Victoria in August of 1987.  Kelly and I were married in November 1989 at St. Andrew's Cathedral (Catholic) on View Street. 

Kyle, our eldest son was born in 1990, Doran in 1992, Evan in 1994, Sebastien in 1998, and our daughter Lucja in 2001.  Since 2001 we have lost four children via miscarriage and we miss them very much.

Kelly has been wife, mother, home maintainer, and home educator these 19 years.  In this same period Randy has worked at a video store, has been a PC hardware consultant, and finally as a business software developer in both public and private sector environments.

Kyle is an apprentice electrician working for MegaPower Installations in Victoria.  He graduated cum laude from South Island Distance Education School and Victoria High School and received the highest grade in his class at college--all of this in under two years of "schooling" (Kelly helped through all the homeschooling years and the two distance education years).

Doran intends to study at the Seminary of Christ the King come September 2009.  His goal is to be a priest and we all think this is great because he'll be a good one.

Evan is currently unsure of his future, but as he has the ability to peeve off people after only 14 years, we imagine he'll be a lawyer soon.

Sebastien's goal is to invent.  He likes weapons, so who knows what will happen. 

Lucja wants to be a mom.  She's a girl so she's on the right track.  With 4 big brothers, she'll be fully trained at dealing with children by the time she's a mom.

The rest is future

• Kids are 100% homeschooled (mostly by Kelly)
• Kelly has managed to help the kids through all grades and all subjects
• Randy is a self-taught software engineer (Systems Delivery Consultant)
• All four boys are known as the "A" Team at church
• Our family can sing chorales, carols and the like in four part harmony
• We enjoy reading, listening to music, cooking/eating, walking, video games...
• We do not, and have never owned a car.  We rent when necessary.
• We seldom use transit and prefer to walk
• We enjoy East Indian vegetarian cooking, but we are not vegetarian
